April 12, 2008. Turks Protest Islamist AKP in Ankara

The "National Independence Meeting" was held at Tandogan Square in Ankara, Turkey, on April 12, 2008. This rally is also prompted by Islamic AKP government's insistence on ignoring secular principles of the country and slowly imposing a public life largely dominated by a fundamentalist interpretation of Islam.
